Improvised or tightly scripted; mute, spoken, or sung; stage monologues for one performer or grand opera with virtually hundreds of participants; all formats are amply represented in his work. But no matter how different superficially, they are linked by his immediately recognizable lighting and the specific dynamics of his performers' movements.
